The course was run in collaboration between the CASD-Centro Alti Studi Difesa (the highest training body for the officers of the Italian Armed Forces, as well as the most prestigious centre in Italy for Security and Defence Studies) and École Universitaire Internationale, under the aegis of the European Security and Defence College.
The 29 participants included officers of the Armed Forces and Security Bodies of European States, diplomatic personnel and staff serving in missions abroad and in crisis areas.
The international training activity allowed participants to explore negotiation techniques in the international sphere, thanks to the operational and scientific contributions provided by École Universitaire Internationale, as well as mediation activities in the various diplomatic and institutional settings for the prevention, management and resolution of conflicts, thanks to experts from the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the Armed Forces, the EU Military Staff, the European External Action Service and the OSCE.
Participants took part through interactive lectures, simulations and role-play.
