ADVANCED TRAINING Course in PSYOPS – Psychological Operations – Operational Psychology

The Advanced Training Course in PSYOPS – Operational Psychology aims to train experts able to apply operational psychology in the field of peace and security and to manage strategic situations in military, security and civilian contexts.

This is the only PsyOps School in Italy and one of the few in Europe, and it is structured as the Advanced Training Course in PSYOPS.

The Advanced Training Course in OPERATIONAL COUNTER-TERRORISM is open to applicants without a degree as well, with the award of credits (CFU) recognised by the Italian university system. State and non-state universities recognise the CFU as valid for shortening enrolment in bachelor’s degrees (or master’s degrees where a bachelor’s degree is already held), subject to verification of correspondence and to assessment of the teaching units that can be recognised. Every assessment, as required by law, is at the discretion of the individual university on the basis of the programme of studies concerned.

The UN and NATO indications of 2011 set out the guidelines for the years to come with regard to situations of crisis and of peace. The guidelines are clear and give priority to the use of non-violent means for the resolution of conflicts and emergencies.

Psychological operations, and therefore the use of experts to prevent and manage situations of operational conflict, are the future for all the bodies responsible for managing the peace and security of peoples and States. All the States belonging to these bodies are adapting, or will have to adapt, to the regulatory provisions, thereby opening up wide scope for professional profiles such as those highly specialised in operational psychology-psyops.

The specific training of experts in this field allows those who obtain the academic qualification to find an immediate position in the world of work, in the Institutional sector and in the private sector.

Participants will be able -on the basis of the analyses and the indications of the political decision-maker- to alter even the most complex situations and bring them to a resolution without the use of violent methods; to analyse communication and sources, to create and manage complex strategies, to produce an adequate management of events, and to anticipate the moves of the other party.

The topics covered range from the behavioural analysis of the individual and of masses, to techniques of mental manipulation, to the management of strategic communication and of security, studying and acquiring the scientific and neuro-bio-psychological foundations of the operational tools proposed, and becoming familiar with the most innovative technologies.

The programme of studies is aimed at civilian personnel, at civilian and military personnel already in service belonging to the Public Administration (Law Enforcement, Armed Forces, etc…), and at experts and other professionals engaged in psyops, intelligence, strategic communication, public and institutional communication activities, as well as at students who wish to undertake and deepen their studies in the field of operational psychology, operational Intelligence, neurosciences applied to Intelligence, and strategic communication. In terms of structure and objectives, the PsyOps School is particularly valuable for military personnel and professionals working in crisis scenarios and complex scenarios.

Start: October 2026 – April 2027 [enrolment open from 1 February 2026]

Classes are held with lecturers from European and non-European Intelligence services, Police Forces and Armies, with simultaneous translation into Italian.

Enrolment fee under agreement: EUR 1,600.00 for students, École Universitaire Internationale students, university students and doctoral candidates, members of the Law Enforcement – Armed Forces – Local Police – Municipal Police, staff employed in the Public Administration, security operators, and professionals in the field such as psychologists, psychiatrists, lawyers, magistrates, etc..

Note: the enrolment fee may be paid in three instalments, the first of which is due at the time of enrolment.

Admission: subject to assessment of the candidate’s C.V. (and a possible online interview)

Enrolment: enrolment is completed by sending the enrolment form you receive (together with the required documents) to the Registry Office.

Required documents: the enrolment form, completed and signed; a photocopy of a valid identity document; a photocopy of the tax code card and a copy of the proof of payment of the full fee/first instalment.

Award of the qualification: at the end of the programme of studies there is a final examination for the award of the Advanced Training qualification.

-The qualification obtained is valid for public competitions in the Public Administration.

-The qualification obtained can be recorded in the personal service file of members of the Armed Forces and the Law Enforcement.
