2022 Structured Analytic Techniques for Intelligence Analysis

A CIA analyst and Division Director for over 25 years, he is the person who devised and turned into a methodology the STRUCTURED ANALYTIC TECHNIQUES FOR INTELLIGENCE ANALYSIS, with particular attention to CRITICAL THINKING (critical thinking) and STRATEGIC FORESIGHT. The techniques and methodologies he developed have become international standards and are used by government Intelligence agencies in more than 40 countries.

He served on the staff of the Inspector General, developing the strategic plans and processes of the Central Intelligence Agency, and as deputy executive director for planning and coordination.

Among his most recent appointments, he was designated National Intelligence Officer for Latin America.

He has been awarded the Intelligence medal and the Intelligence career medal.

The course -organised in collaboration with UNIT OIR- consists of two full-immersion days addressing structured analytic techniques for intelligence analysis, with particular focus on:

• Which structured techniques of intelligence analysis are most effective in mitigating the impact of bias
• Cognitive manipulation in digital disinformation (fake news) and counter-manipulation

The Course will be held in person in the classroom. The Course will be held in English with translation into Italian.
